Grief, Anger Trail Death of Nine-Month-Old Twins After Lagos Immunisation

Public concern has erupted over immunisation practices at a Lagos Primary Health Facility following allegations that nine-month-old identical twins died less than 24 hours after receiving routine vaccines.

The father of the infants, Samuel Alozie—popularly known as Promise Samuel on social media—alleged that his sons, Testimony and Timothy, were taken to the Ajangbadi Primary Health Centre in Ojo Local Government Area on December 24, 2025, for scheduled immunisation.

According to him, the twins reportedly became unusually weak shortly after the injections and died the following morning, Christmas Day.

The incident drew widespread attention after Alozie shared videos online showing the twins wrapped separately, while recounting the events surrounding their deaths.

He claimed that health workers advised him to administer paracetamol when the children developed fever, but said their condition deteriorated despite the medication.

Alozie accused the health centre of possible professional negligence, alleging that the vaccines administered may have been expired, fake or given in excessive doses.

He further claimed that deworming tablets were administered to the infants without his consent.

He also raised questions about the personnel involved, noting that a nurse unfamiliar to him administered the injections on that day, unlike previous visits.

The bereaved father dismissed explanations allegedly offered by the facility that the deaths were caused by food-related bacteria, insisting such claims were inconsistent with the children’s condition and timing of events.

While the Lagos State Ministry of Health and the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board are yet to release an official statement, Alozie confirmed that an autopsy had been conducted but expressed doubts about the credibility of the outcome, citing fears of institutional bias.

He has appealed for legal assistance and public support, stating that he lacks the financial capacity to pursue justice independently.

The case has since intensified public discourse around vaccine safety, informed consent and accountability within public health institutions, with growing calls for an independent investigation into the tragic deaths.
