Governor Abiodun Commissions Projects in Ogun Waterside LG
…applauds the Council Chairman for embarking on Laudable Projects

The Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun CON, has reiterated his administration’s commitment towards the development of the Ogun Waterside Local Government Area. He made an assertion on Friday , November 7, 2025, at the Local Government Secretariat, Abigi, while commissioning some Laudable Projects executed by the Hon. Odunnoiki-led administration as the Executive Chairman.
Speaking through Hon. Rasaq Daddah, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, who, in his remarks, commended the Council Chairman for putting smiles on the faces of all citizens as it can be seen in the course of going round to all the projects sites, most particularly the students of Ilushin Secondary School, Ilushin, where a Skill Acquisition Centre’s plaque was unveiled. Hon. Daddah also appreciated the Chairman’s unwavering commitment, noting that it was due to the Chairman’s love and affection for the people that facilitated all these infrastructural developments in the area.

He reiterated that the State Government is focusing on infrastructural development and improving the quality of life for its residents. The Governor expressed appreciation to the people of Ogun Waterside for their support and prayers, assuring that the administration remains committed to delivering its promises.

In his welcoming speech, Hon. Odunnoiki Adetoye AbdulGaniyu, the Executive Chairman, Ogun Waterside Local Government, appreciated the love and kind gesture his administration has received from the State Government under the amiable leadership of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun {CON}, as the Governor.
He emphasized that his style of leadership in the State is a top-notch one which is worthy of emulation, noting that amongst many other developmental works currently ongoing, the rehabilitation of GAO to Ibiade Township Road is a Giants stride for which he has to appreciate on behalf of the good people of the Council area.

Hon. Odunnoiki thanked the people of the Council area particularly the Party Leaders, Kabiyesis and the people for giving him the opportunity to serve through their massive votes a year ago. The high point of the heartfelt appreciation is that of our master, mentor, benefactor, and the people’s Governor for the release of funds to execute all of these projects while calling on the people to make ownership of these projects and ensure the longevity through its proper and effective maintenance.

He stressed that, His Excellency, made today’s commissioning of projects under a year a reality while he reeled out all of them as follows;
- A block of three halls for the Women’s Skill Acquisition at Ilushin Secondary School, Ilushin.
- Five (5) Solar Powered (Motorised) Boreholes for the people of Makun-Omi, Efire, Ibiade, Ayede, and Itebu towns.
- Grading of feeder Roads in 9 Wards of the Council Area.
- Renovation of the Garri Warehouse and Toilet facility at Ajebo International Market, Makun-Omi.
- Construction of a block of 8 Lock Up Shops at Abigi Motor Garage.
- Conversion of (18) Open Stalls to (18) Lock Up Shops at Oja Oba Market in Abigi Town.
- Reconstruction of a collapsed Jetty Platform at Igbo Edu Wharf.
- Purchase of a brand new Engine, tyres servicing of the Local Government Grader that made the Grading of feeder Roads a success.

The Onisin of Ilushin, HRM. Oba Abimbola Jimoh Mafe and the Ojotumoro of Abigi, HRM. Oba Ogunye Olusegun Oludolapo at different fora thanked, the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, for keeping Democratic promises and providing dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots. They both urged the Government, like the Oliver Twist, to look at other critical social amenities that would better the lot of the people.
The event was well attended by dignitaries that sprang from the Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, Permanent Secretary, Directors of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Traditional Rulers, Party Stalwarts led by Asiwaju Dele Odulaja, former Commissioner for Forestry/Council Chairman, Community Leaders, the Iyalojas and Babalojas, Career Officers led by the Head of Local Government Administration {HOLGA}, Mr. Odusoga Olalekan Monsuru, amongst many others.
