Eid-el-Fitr: Gov. Dapo Abiodun Calls for Unity, Charity Beyond Ramadan

As Muslims across Ogun State mark the end of Ramadan, Governor Dapo Abiodun has urged the faithful to sustain the spiritual discipline, compassion, and generosity cultivated during the Holy Month.
In a goodwill message released in Abeokuta to commemorate Eid al-Fitr, the Governor emphasized that the essence of Ramadan should not end with the fasting period but should remain a guiding principle in everyday life.
He highlighted that the 30-day observance went beyond abstinence from food and drink, noting that it fostered a culture of empathy, charity, and collective responsibility toward the less privileged—values he described as critical to building a more cohesive and humane society.
Gov. Abiodun also acknowledged the role of prayers offered by the Muslim community throughout Ramadan, stressing that such spiritual intercession contributes significantly to peace, stability, and progress in Ogun State and Nigeria.
The Governor used the occasion to reinforce his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and people-centered development, assuring residents that efforts to improve welfare and infrastructure would continue across all communities, regardless of religious background.
While congratulating Muslims on witnessing the end of Ramadan, he encouraged them to carry forward virtues such as patience, humility, and righteousness, describing them as essential tools for personal growth and societal harmony.
He concluded by wishing the Muslim faithful a joyful Eid al-Fitr celebration and prayed for enduring peace and prosperity in Ogun State and across Nigeria.
