CP Bode Ojajuni Assumes Command, Promises People-Centered Policing in Ogun

CP Bode Ojajuni has officially taken over as the new Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, assuming duty at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta. He succeeds AIG Lanre Ogunlowo and comes with a wealth of experience, including his tenure as Commissioner of Police at INTERPOL, Nigeria National Central Bureau.

From the outset, Ojajuni has signaled a shift toward a more accountable and community-oriented Police Force. He emphasized that his administration will prioritize discipline, transparency, and ethical conduct, warning that Officers involved in corruption, abuse of power, or any form of unprofessional behavior will face strict consequences.

“Policing is not just about enforcing the law; it is about earning public trust. Respect for human rights and dignity is essential in every engagement,” Ojajuni said. He also encouraged Officers to treat citizens courteously and urged the public to collaborate with the Police by providing timely and reliable information.

To strengthen security and build community confidence, the new CP pledged active collaboration with traditional rulers, community leaders, the media, and other security agencies. He stated that intelligence-led policing and public engagement would be central to tackling crime across the State.

Global Mirror News notes that Ojajuni’s appointment comes at a critical time when residents have been demanding a professional, accountable, and people-focused police force in Ogun State. His leadership is expected to drive reforms that balance law enforcement with community partnership.
