Celebrating Five Decades of Impact: Ogun LG Director, Princess Olufemi Oyesanmi Asogun, Celebrates 50 in Grand Style

The Olusegun Osoba Hall of Abeokuta South Local Government, Ake, was aglow with celebration and thanksgiving as Princess Olufemi Oyesanmi Asogun, Director of General Services and Administration (DGSA), Abeokuta South Local Government Ake, marked her 50th Birthday amid glowing tributes from Government Officials, Colleagues, family members, and friends.

The Golden Jubilee ceremony, which reflected the signature human-interest and Governance focus of Global Mirror News, blended public service recognition with gratitude to God. Guests at the well-attended event ate, wined and dined to their satisfaction, while lively and soul-lifting music by Bolaji Treasure Band added colour and excitement to the celebration.

Chairman of the occasion, the Permanent Secretary of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Engr. Olanike Ogunbona, FNSE, who was represented by the Director of Management Services (DMS) of the Commission, described the celebrant as a disciplined, diligent, and dependable Administrative professional whose career has been defined by integrity and commitment to excellence.

Also serving as the Mother of the Day, Mrs. Omotayo Taiwo Akintomide (DMS), eulogised Princess Asogun as a hardworking and loyal officer who has remained steadfast in the service of Ogun State. She prayed for long life, good health, and greater heights, expressing confidence that the celebrant would still attain the peak of her career in the Local Government Service.

In his goodwill message, the Father of the Day, Dr. Olusegun Oludare of the Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta, described the celebrant as a worthy ambassador of the Institution and a woman of honour whose professionalism and personal conduct have earned her respect across sectors. He prayed for her continued wellbeing and fulfilment.

Colleagues, friends, family members, and her children took turns to share heartfelt testimonies, describing Princess Asogun as a loving mother, a firm but fair administrator, and an intelligent, compassionate woman whose passion for service and people development remains outstanding.

Responding, the celebrant expressed deep gratitude to God for the gift of life and divine preservation against all odds. She appreciated her husband, Mathew Asogun for his unwavering support, understanding, and for providing a peaceful home environment that has enabled her to excel professionally.

She also thanked the Chairman of the occasion, the Mother and Father of the Day, mentors within the Local Government Service, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mrs. Funmi Soberu, members of the Local Government Service Commission, serving and retired administrative officers, TNCACCI Obantoko members, friends, and well-wishers for honouring her with their presence.

A Life Defined by Service, Learning and Faith
Born on January 26, 1976, in Lagos, Princess Oyesanmi Olufemi Asogun is a daughter of the late Prof. (Rev. Canon) Israel Opeolu Osokoya and Deaconess Anthonia Osokoya of the Eyinwa Kingdom, Ijebu, Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

She began her education at the Staff School, University of Ibadan, and proceeded to Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School, Ijebu-Ode, where she obtained her Senior School Certificate Examination in 1994. She later attended the Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta, earning a Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in Agricultural Science (Double Major) in 1999.

Princess Asogun furthered her studies at the University of Ibadan, where she obtained a Bachelor of Library and Information Studies (BLIS Honours) in 2003, and later acquired a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in 2015.

Her professional development includes training at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Badagry, in 2006, and her elevation as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria (CILGPAN) in 2025.

She joined the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission in 2004 as a Higher Executive Officer (General Duties), Grade Level 08, and was converted to Administrative Officer II in 2009. Through dedication and consistent performance, she rose through the ranks, serving as Assistant Director at the Local Government Service Commission, Oke-Mosan, between 2024 and 2025. She currently serves as the Director of General Services and Administration at Abeokuta South Local Government Area, Ake, Abeokuta.

Beyond her official duties, Princess Asogun is a counsellor, marriage registrar, teacher, and an ordained Evangelist, actively contributing both in the secular sphere and in the vineyard of God. She is happily married and blessed with children.

The celebration, marked by music, fellowship, fine dining, and thanksgiving, stood as a fitting tribute to a life of service, faith, and impact—qualities that continue to define Princess Olufemi Oyesanmi Asogun’s enduring legacy in Ogun State’s public service.
