Calls Rise for Genuine Representation as Ogun Central Eyes 2027 Legislative Seats
By Adenike Olowe
Political momentum is steadily building across Ogun Central Senatorial District as leaders, stakeholders and community voices intensify demands for a new wave of representation, one that prioritizes sincerity, empathy and true service in both the Senate (Red Chamber) and House of Representatives (Green Chamber).
This renewed call gained stronger traction on Thursday, December 4, 2025, when Hon. Ishaq Olanrewaju Bada, former Vice Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, released a compelling statement urging residents to deeply reflect on the calibre of lawmakers they want speaking for them at the National Assembly in 2027.
In the statement titled “A Call for Genuine Representation in Ogun Central,” Hon. Bada described the current political climate as a defining moment for the district, insisting that the people must demand both a Senator and House of Representatives members who embody compassion and a deep understanding of grassroots realities.
“Our people deserve lawmakers – both in the Red and Green Chambers, who understand our daily struggles, share in our hopes, and celebrate our progress,” Bada stated. “We need leaders who do not stand above the people, but firmly stand with the people.”
He emphasized that Ogun Central must be represented by individuals with strong community ties, leaders who have engaged young people, supported women, empowered artisans and stood by families in difficult times. According to him, certificates or polished speech cannot replace genuine human connection.
“True representation is not defined by grammar or certificates,” he stressed. “It is defined by connection, empathy, and sincere service.”
Hon. Bada noted that political consultations are already ongoing across the district as aspirants begin to position themselves for both Senate and House of Representatives seats. He urged residents to prioritize candidates whose devotion to the people outweighs political ambition.
He described the upcoming election cycle as a crucial opportunity for Ogun Central to elect leaders who will courageously and sincerely defend the district’s interests in both chambers of the Senate and National Assembly.
“This is our opportunity to choose voices that will speak for us, stand with us, and work tirelessly for our progress,” Hon. Bada added, praying for divine guidance as constituents prepare for critical decisions.
His intervention is expected to further energize conversations around the calibre of leadership Ogun Central must insist on as the road to 2027 becomes clearer.
