Bloodbath in Kano: Hoodlums Kill Woman, Six Children, Throw Infant Into Well

A brutal attack in the Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters of Kano has left a woman and her six children dead in what authorities describe as a shocking act of violence that has shaken the Community.

According to statements from the Kano State Police Command, the victims were identified as 35‑year‑old Fatima Abubakar and her six children.

Police said unknown assailants reportedly forced their way into the family’s home at about 12:10 pm on Saturday and attacked them with dangerous weapons, inflicting fatal injuries.

Eyewitnesses told Journalists that the attackers also threw an infant into a well inside the compound after the assault, compounding the horror of the incident.

The Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed that a distress call prompted an immediate response from officers deployed to the scene by Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

The bodies were rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, where they were pronounced dead.

Police have launched a full investigation, with a Criminal Investigation Department team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Wada Jarma tasked with identifying and apprehending those responsible.

The command extended condolences to the bereaved family and residents of Dorayi Chiranchi, urging the public to assist with any information that could aid the probe.

Residents of the densely populated neighbourhood remain in a state of shock and fear, calling for improved security measures to prevent further violence.
