Bandits Kill Father, Abduct Mother, Leave Young Boy Stranded in Niger

A young boy has been left stranded after armed bandits attacked his family while they were travelling in Niger State, killing his father and abducting his mother.
According to reports gathered by Global Mirror News, the tragic incident occurred along the Bangi–Mangoro road in Mariga Local Government Area of the State.
A Journalist who monitors security developments in Nigeria’s North-West, DanKatsina, disclosed the incident on social media, explaining that the boy was travelling with his parents when the attackers struck.
He said the family was on their way between Bangi and Mangoro when the bandits ambushed their vehicle.
During the attack, the gunmen reportedly shot and killed the boy’s father, while his mother was abducted and taken away by the assailants.
The boy, who survived the attack, was left alone and stranded after the incident.
Sources said the child is currently in Mangoro community where residents are trying to assist him while efforts are being made to locate his relatives.
Photographs of the boy have reportedly been circulated online in the hope that family members or people who recognise him will come forward to identify him and take custody of him.
The incident adds to the growing cases of banditry and violent attacks on travellers in parts of Niger State and other areas of northern Nigeria, where armed groups frequently target motorists and rural communities.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the attack as of the time of filing this report.
