Awujale Succession: No Kingmaker was Financially Induced – Olaosebikan

A prominent member of the Jadiara Royal House, Chief Makanjuola Olaosebikan has described as unfounded an online report stating that some members of the kingmakers into the revered Awujale throne were financially induced by a candidate.

Chief Olaosebikan while speaking with newsmen stated that the process of selecting the right candidate is ongoing as prescribed by extant laws, and would be wrong of anyone to drag the kingmakers into the musky waters.

He added that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as well as the Department of State Security Service, (DSS), have at no time invited any members of the kingmakers for questioning as stated in the said publication.

He however called on the kingmakers, and other stakeholders to ensure proper screening and selection in order to avoid any unnecessary litigation that may drag the revered throne into the mud.

“I read with disgust the publication insinuating that some members of the kingmakers have been induced financially by a candidate.

” In as much as we know that at a time like this, so many issues and lies will fly around, I equally want to enjoin everyone to be cautious of hearsay and Innuendos.

“I believe the kingmakers know what to do, and following the guidelines,they will do the right thing to the growth and progress of Ijebuland,” he said.

Olaosebikan however called on the state government, to as a matter of law, ensure the smooth ascension programme for the Awujale throne, devoid of any litigation that may drag the fortune of the community backwards
