Awujale: Ogun State Government Sets Up Administrative Body

The Ogun State Government has constituted an Administrative Body to oversee the management of various Administrative and Traditional responsibilities in Ijebu Ode during the transition period until a new Awujale is installed. This move is aimed at ensuring stability and continuity in the kingdom.

According to a statement signed by Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the 11-member body is composed of prominent individuals from different parts of Ijebu Ode. The members include:

  1. Chief Folorunso Sunny Kuku (Ilamuren) – Chairman
  2. Chief Oluwaranti Lekan Osifeso (Madassa) – Secretary
  3. Chief Stephen Bakare Oluwalogbon (Ilamuren) – Member
  4. Chief Bisola Oluneye Okuboyejo (Ilamuren) – Member
  5. Chief Funmilola Okunowo (Ilamuren) – Member
  6. Prof. Jide Ajayi (Ilamuren) – Member
  7. Chief Tunde Odulaja (Pampa) – Member
  8. Chief Abimbola Okenla (Pampa) – Member
  9. Chief Agboola Alausa (Pampa) – Member
  10. Chief (Mrs.) Adebisi Oshibogun (Pampa) – Member
  11. Chief Adebisi Adaran (Gbeden) (Ogbogeni Odi) – Member

The Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, CON, has reiterated the Government’s commitment to ensuring stability, continuity, and respect for the cherished traditions of Ijebu Ode during this transition period. The Government has also assured that it will work tirelessly to ensure that the process of installing a new Awujale is transparent, inclusive, and respectful of the cultural heritage of Ijebu Ode.

The State Government has called on all sons and daughters of Ijebu land, both at home and in the diaspora, to extend their unflinching support to the constituted Administrative Body. The government emphasized that this is a collective responsibility that requires the cooperation of all stakeholders to safeguard the peace, harmony, and unity that Ijebu land is known for.

The people of Ijebu Ode are urged to remain law-abiding, peaceful, and supportive of the ongoing process. The government remains resolute in its commitment to transparency, inclusiveness, and the preservation of the cultural heritage of Ijebu Ode.
