Atiku, El-Rufai Coalition Applies for New Party Registration

The National Opposition Coalition Group, led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has formally applied to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for registration as a new Political Party, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).
The Party Name and Acronym is All Democratic Alliance (ADA) with the Slogan: “Justice for All”. The Symbol is A maize (corn) logo, representing abundance, resilience, and sustenance, while the founding Members are Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi, Umar Ardo, Peter Obi, Aminu Tambuwal, John Oyegun, Rauf Aregbesola, Abubakar Malami, Babachir Lawal, Uche Secondus, Osita Chidoka, and Nnenna Ukeje
The objective of the New Party is the coalition aims to capitalize on growing public dissatisfaction and political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
INEC acknowledged receipt of the application on June 20, 2025, and will review the submission according to constitutional and electoral guidelines.
Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo has mocked the party’s promoters, describing the move as “unnecessary hype” and “psychological warfare on Nigerians.” Keyamo questioned the coalition’s ability to form a credible third force in Nigerian politics.
