APC Youths Use Ijebu Ode Walk to Reaffirm Support for Tinubu, Abiodun

Youth leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State on Tuesday February 10, converged in Ijebu Ode for a solidarity walk aimed at reaffirming their backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The walk, which was peaceful and well attended, began at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium and passed through major streets of the town, drawing attention from residents and motorists.
Participants carried party flags, banners and placards while chanting songs in support of the APC and its leadership at both the Federal and State levels.
Organisers said the procession was designed to publicly restate youth confidence in the policies and programmes of President Tinubu, particularly the Renewed Hope Agenda, as well as the development strides recorded under Governor Abiodun’s administration in Ogun State.
Speaking during the exercise, the National President of the APC Youth League, Comrade Olamide Lawal, described February 11 as a date of political importance in the State.
He recalled that the same venue witnessed tension during the 2019 election season but said the outcome of that contest ultimately reinforced the resolve of the party’s supporters.
“From that experience, we learnt resilience. Governor Dapo Abiodun went on to win in 2019 and secured re-election in 2023.
Since 2020, we have used this date to organise empowerment programmes and freedom walks to remind our members of how far we have come,” Lawal said.
He noted that the solidarity walk was also an opportunity for youths to express appreciation for policies they believe are positively impacting governance and youth inclusion.
The Gateway State Coordinator of the APC Youth League, Fayomi Yunus, said the presence of youths from across Ogun State showed a unified front within the party.
According to him, the walk underscored the determination of young party members to remain active stakeholders in the political process.
“Our message is simple: Ogun youths are solidly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun. We believe their leadership offers direction and stability, and we will continue to support initiatives that promote development,” Yunus stated.
Adding his voice, the National President of the National Association of Ogun State Students, Comrade Oluwafemi Ajayi, said students in the state are closely following reforms at the federal level and ongoing projects in Ogun State.
He maintained that the Abiodun-led Government has consistently emphasised infrastructure expansion, youth empowerment and economic opportunities, noting that such focus explains the sustained support from young people across the State.
