APC Launches Statewide E-Registration Drive to Boost Membership, Party Cohesion in Ogun

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has commenced a comprehensive electronic registration and re-registration exercise aimed at expanding its membership base, strengthening internal cohesion, and positioning the party for future political contests, Global Mirror News gathered.
The initiative was officially flagged off on Tuesday December 13 by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who described the programme as a strategic turning point in the party’s mobilisation and organisational framework across the State.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Engr. (Mrs.) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Governor Abiodun said the e-registration exercise provides an opportunity for both existing members and new entrants to reaffirm their commitment to what he described as Africa’s largest and most successful political party.
He explained that the technology-driven process would guarantee a transparent, credible, and verifiable membership database, eliminating the problems of manipulation, duplication, and inflated figures that have plagued manual registration processes in the past.
According to the Governor, the adoption of electronic registration aligns the party with Global best practices in political organisation and data management, while also enhancing accuracy and operational efficiency.
“This is a collective responsibility. Our leaders, Ward Executives, and Field Officers must work together to ensure a smooth, inclusive, and hitch-free process. The era of fake or inflated membership figures is over,” Governor Abiodun said, as Global Mirror News gathered.
He urged party leaders, stakeholders, and members at all levels to mobilise supporters across the State to ensure massive participation in the exercise.
Speaking at the event, the Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, described the registration drive as a unifying platform designed to consolidate the party’s strength rather than a transactional or personal venture.
“This exercise is not about individual benefit; it is about strengthening APC as a party and positioning us for sustained leadership and electoral success,” Sanusi stated.
He further called on party leaders across the State’s 236 wards to give maximum support to the process, assuring that additional registration centres and operators would be deployed where necessary to accommodate all prospective members within the stipulated time frame.
Chief Sanusi stressed that no genuine supporter or intending member of the APC should be left out of the exercise.
The flag-off ceremony also witnessed the electronic registration of top party leaders, including the Deputy Governor, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Toyin Taiwo, underscoring the leadership’s commitment to the programme.
Party members and supporters across Ogun State have therefore been urged to actively participate and mobilise others, as the APC continues to build what it describes as a stronger, more inclusive, and forward-looking political family, Global Mirror News gathered.
