The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has congratulated the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, following his re-election at the party’s 8th National Convention.

The convention, held at Eagle Square in Abuja, attracted more than 8,000 delegates from across the Country and was widely described by party leaders as peaceful, orderly and credible.

Governor Abiodun also congratulated other newly elected members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), including Ali Dalori, Benjamin Nwoye, Ajibola Basiru and AbdulKarim Kana.

In a statement issued in Abeokuta, the Governor praised the successful conduct of the convention, noting that the smooth and transparent process demonstrated the unity, strength and democratic culture within the ruling party.

Abiodun described Professor Yilwatda’s re-election as a reflection of the confidence party members have in his leadership since he assumed office in July 2025. He added that the newly constituted NWC would play a crucial role in strengthening the party and positioning it for future electoral success.

The Governor also expressed optimism that the leadership team would guide the APC to greater achievements as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 general elections.
