ANLG: Dr. Oyegbola-Sodipo’s People-Oriented Projects Set for Commissioning
Abeokuta North Local Government (ANLG) is set to commission several impactful projects across the Local Government Area on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
These initiatives, executed by the Dr. ‘Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo-led Administration, will be commissioned by the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, CON.
The projects to be commissioned are a testament to the Local Government’s commitment to improving the lives of its residents through people-oriented, transformative, and essential services initiatives. Some of the notable projects include:
- Renovation and Upgrade of Abeokuta North Marriage Registry: Providing a modern and functional facility for residents to access marriage services.
- Provision of Solar Powered Boreholes: Supplying clean water to Communities in Ilawo, Oke Ago-Owu, and Ijale-Papa.
- Rehabilitation and Renovation Projects:
- Administrative Building at LG Secretariat, Akomoje: Upgrading the Local Government Secretariat.
- Saint Paul’s Anglican Primary School, Ilewo Orile: Renovating A block of 2 classrooms to provide a conducive learning environment for students.
- Skilled Acquisition and Enterprises Development at LG Secretariat, Akomoje: Enhancing skills development and entrepreneurship opportunities for residents.
- Provision of Modern Public Toilet Facilities: Providing clean and hygienic toilet facilities for students and staff at United School, Ikereku, Oke- ldo and Ita-Iyalode.
- Provision of Desks and Benches: Supplying furniture to Local Government Primary Schools to enhance the learning environment for students.
These transformative projects demonstrate the Administration’s commitment to providing essential services that will positively impact the lives of residents. The commissioning ceremony marks a significant milestone in the Administration’s efforts to improve access to clean water, sanitation, education, and skills development.
Under Dr. Oyegbola-Sodipo’s leadership, the ANLG has also initiated other development projects, including
- New Town Development Project: Providing affordable housing and enhancing infrastructure in the Prince Dapo Abiodun Housing Estate in Obasa, Sabo.
- Enterprise Skills Acquisition Program: Empowering youths and residents with skills in Tie and Dye, Graphic Design, and Paint Production.
The commissioning of these projects is expected to further demonstrate the administration’s commitment to people-oriented governance and its focus on delivering essential services to the Communities.
