In a bid to improve the education sector in Abeokuta North Local Government, the Chairman, Dr. ’Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, in conjunction with After God’s Heart Incorporated and the AMACOS 94/99 Set, has commissioned a community e-library aimed at nurturing and harnessing the potential of pupils and students within and outside the council’s jurisdiction.

The commissioning ceremony took place on Friday, 6 February 2026, at Owu African Church Central Primary School, Ita-Iyalode, Abeokuta, and was graced by dignitaries from within the Country and the diaspora.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Oyegbola expressed gratitude to God for the kind of classmates He had blessed him with over the past 30 years, describing them as family. He noted that it was therefore not difficult for them to attract a befitting project to Abeokuta North Local Government.

The Council boss said, “Without collaboration, we cannot achieve our goals. We are here to encourage everyone, especially the pupils. Our aim is to impact every part of this Local Government. It is tough to govern and tough to stand on the side of what is right, but the consolation remains that one with God is always a majority. We believe the students will make good use of these facilities.”

Dr. Oyegbola further thanked the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for providing him with the platform to showcase the talents God has bestowed upon him.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Head Teacher of Owu African Church Central Primary School, Ita-Iyalode, Mrs. Olabode Kikelomo Omoyisola, thanked God for the historic day marking the official opening of a brand-new e-library, which promises to revolutionise the way learners and students learn and grow.

She extended heartfelt gratitude to the Abeokuta North Local Government management team, led by Dr. ’Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, for their unwavering support in making the project a reality, as well as to the group that facilitated the establishment of the library, After God’s Heart Incorporated. “Your contribution to education in our community is invaluable,” she said.

Mrs. Olabode stated, “This e-library is more than just a facility; it is a gateway to a world of knowledge and a tool that will enhance easy learning and understanding for learners and students.” She stressed that in today’s digital age, access to information is key, adding that the school is thrilled to provide students with the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow. She urged the learners to make good use of the resource by reading, exploring, and learning with curiosity and passion in order to achieve greatness and build a brighter future.

Meanwhile, the AMACOS President, Agbaakin Moruff Adenekan, in his brief remarks, stated that possibilities emerge when vision, compassion, and collaboration come together.

He affirmed, “This project is the product of a shared vision between After God’s Heart Incorporated and the AMACOS 94/99 Set. If we truly want to change society, we must first give children access to knowledge, because education is the seed from which lasting transformation grows.”

He noted that AGH’s intervention was driven by deep concern over declining academic performance and the lack of functional, accessible libraries for students. He added that the library goes beyond books, as it is solar-powered to ensure uninterrupted learning. According to him, AGH Founder, Dr. David Olawale, often says, “Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not, and it is our duty to close that gap.”

Mr. Adenekan further thanked the Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government for providing the space and for demonstrating that public office can be used to directly support learning and youth development. “When we invest in education, we are not helping people for a moment; we are shaping futures for generations,” he said.

The formal commissioning of the library, ribbon-cutting, unveiling of the plaque, Zoom interaction with donors in the diaspora, and presentation of the library to the council were duly observed.

The Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs. Kikelomo Munirat Ajayi, appreciated After God’s Heart Incorporated and the AMACOS 94/99 Set for remembering Abeokuta North Local Government with the laudable project, which she said would reshape many students for greatness. She also used the opportunity to call for more infrastructural development within the Council Area.

Other benefits to students include coaching classes for WAEC candidates, payment of common entrance examination fees for 70 students in Abeokuta North Local Government, with an additional 20 students from Abeokuta South Local Government, as well as the donation of one hundred thousand naira for the purchase of books.

A cultural display by the pupils of the school formed part of the side attractions at the event.
