Abiodun Unveils Tinubu-Backed Mega Dairy, Cattle Ranches for Ogun

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has announced plans to establish what he described as Nigeria’s largest dairy and cattle ranching facilities in Ipokia and Yewa South Local Government Areas, with an initial capacity of 5,000 herds of cattle.

The Governor made the disclosure at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Strategic Stakeholders Meeting held at the Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, noting that the initiative is being implemented with the backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Abiodun said the project is aimed at reinforcing food security, expanding local dairy production, and strengthening agricultural value chains within the state and across the Country. He added that construction work would commence soon.

“The largest dairy and cattle ranches in the country will be sited in Yewa South and Ipokia. They will begin with 5,000 herds of cattle, and work will start shortly,” he stated.

The Governor commended President Tinubu for what he described as bold economic reforms that have stabilised the foreign exchange market, unified exchange rates, and boosted Nigeria’s foreign reserves. He maintained that the President’s policies have restored investor confidence and positioned the Country for sustainable growth.

Gov. Abiodun also cited Federal approvals and interventions benefiting Ogun State, including the reconstruction of the Sagamu–Ijebu Ode Road, support for the Eba oil discovery, and renewed efforts toward the Olokola Liquefied Natural Gas (OKLNG) project. He noted that President Tinubu consistently recommends Ogun State to prospective investors.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements over the past six years and eight months, Abiodun said more than 1,700 kilometres of roads have been constructed across the State, over 7,000 housing units delivered, and more than 400 Primary Healthcare Centres upgraded and equipped. He added that Ogun is on the verge of becoming an oil-producing State.

The Governor explained that the stakeholders’ meeting was convened to assess progress and reinforce party unity ahead of the electioneering season. He urged APC members to remain disciplined and united, especially as party congresses approach.

“A united APC is an unbeatable APC,” he said.

Among dignitaries present were former Governor Olusegun Osoba; Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide; Senators Solomon Olamilekan Adeola and Shuaib Salisu; House of Representatives Chief Whip, Hon. Ibrahim Isiaka; Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani; Minister of State for Health, Dr. Isiaka Salako; APC State Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi; and other party leaders.
