Abiodun Showcases Ogun’s Road Revolution, Says Development Spread Is Non-Negotiable

The Ogun State Government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to completing all ongoing road projects across the State, declaring that Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration will not relent in its efforts to deliver infrastructure that enhances mobility, economic development, and the quality of life of residents.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, made this known in a statement on Wednesday, stressing that the Abiodun-led Government inherited a State with poor road conditions but has since turned the tide through massive investments in strategic and community-based projects across all 20 Local Governments and the three Senatorial Districts.

Akinmade explained that the Government’s vision is to ensure inclusive growth by spreading infrastructural development evenly, ensuring that “no part of the state is left behind.” He stated that critics must remember the deplorable condition of most roads before 2019, and how the Abiodun administration swiftly intervened in several key areas.

He cited the Sagamu–Abeokuta Interchange road as an example, noting that travel time on the route has reduced drastically to about 25 minutes, compared to the long hours of gridlock before the administration’s intervention.

He also highlighted the transformation of the Atan–Lusada–Agbara industrial corridor and the Ijebu Ode–Mojoda–Epe Road, which have significantly improved travel experience and economic activity.

According to him, when repeated appeals to the Federal Government to rehabilitate federal roads in the Sango Ota axis failed, Governor Abiodun personally ordered palliative works to ease the hardship of commuters — an action that underscored his people-first governance style.

Releasing a comprehensive list of completed, ongoing, and commissioned road projects across the state, Akinmade outlined progress in each senatorial district:
