Abeokuta to Host Seminar on Youth, Digital Economy and Good Governance

Stakeholders across governance, civil society, and the media are set to converge in Abeokuta for a high-level seminar titled “The Role of Youth in Digital Economy, Security, and Good Governance.”
The seminar is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 3rd March 2026, at the Press Center, Iwe Iroyin, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The event will be hosted by Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, with the Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Information and Technology, Hon Akeem Oluseye, serving as the Guest of Honour.
Organizers, led by publisher of INFOLITENEWS, Olamilekan Jaji, disclosed that the seminar aims to examine the critical role young people play in shaping Nigeria’s digital economy, strengthening national security architecture, and promoting transparency and accountability in governance.
It is also expected to provide a platform for robust dialogue on policy direction and youth-driven innovation in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
The panel session will feature notable personalities, including Comrade Yinka Folarin, National President of the Committee for the Defense of Human Rights (CDHR); Prince Nurudeen Adegbenro, a media expert and advocate of good governance; and Chief Abiodun Lasile, Orunto of Owu Kingdom and Chairman of Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Ogun State chapter.
According to the organisers, the seminar will not only stimulate conversation around digital transformation and security but will also set a clear agenda for the future of the digital economy in Ogun State and across Nigeria.
Participants are expected to deliberate on how youth engagement, innovation, and responsible leadership can drive sustainable development in an increasingly technology-driven world.
Highlight of the event will include the recognition and appreciation of individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria’s digital economy.
