Abeokuta South LG Invites Contractors to Bid for Road, Bridge Rehabilitation Projects

The Abeokuta South Local Government has invited reputable contractors to submit bids for the rehabilitation and resurfacing of key infrastructure within the Council Area as part of efforts to improve road connectivity and public safety.

According to a Tender Notice issued by the Local Government, the project covers the rehabilitation, resurfacing and palliative repair of the road stretch from Dental Junction through Nawarudeen to Kuto Market, as well as the rehabilitation of the Isale-Oja Kuto Bridge.

The Council called on interested contractors currently registered with the Bureau of Public Procurement and Abeokuta South Local Government to obtain the necessary tender documents. The documents, including the specification details and unpriced bill of quantities, can be collected from the office of the Director of Works and Housing at the Abeokuta South Local Government Secretariat in Ake.

Prospective bidders are required to pay a non-refundable tender fee of N100,000 to the Local Government treasury and attach evidence of payment to their tender submissions.

In addition, bidders must submit photocopies of key documents, including a current tax clearance certificate for the company or managing director, registration certificate with the Bureau of Public Procurement and Abeokuta South Local Government, business premises registration certificate or evidence of payment of the registration fee, and proof of payment of tenement rates to the Local Government for the past three years.

The Council noted that any contract awarded would be subject to statutory deductions, including 7.5 percent Value Added Tax (VAT) and 10 percent Withholding Tax (WHT) in accordance with Government Regulations.

Completed tender documents must be submitted in wax-sealed envelopes clearly marked “Rehabilitation, Resurfacing and Palliative Repair from Dental Junction, Nawarudeen to Kuto Market Road and Rehabilitation of Isale-Oja Kuto Bridge in Abeokuta South Local Government.”

The envelopes should be addressed to the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government and delivered by hand at the Council Secretariat in Ake, Abeokuta, on or before Monday, March 9, 2026.

The Local Government stated that it is not bound to accept the lowest or any particular tender, noting that no request for variation would be entertained after the contract has been awarded.

The notice was signed by Mrs. Asogun Oyesanmi Olufemi, Head of General Services and Administration, for the Executive Chairman of the Council.
