2Baba Breaks Silence, Accuses Family of Endangering Wife Natasha, Begs Public: ‘Stop Destroying Our Lives’
Nigerian music icon, Innocent Ujah Idibia, globally known as 2Baba, has made a powerful emotional appeal to his family, fans, and the general public, calling for an immediate end to the growing controversy surrounding his marriage to Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru Idibia.
In a viral video released on Friday morning, the legendary artist addressed the escalating situation head-on, revealing that the tension fueled by deep family interference and widespread online commentary has now resulted in death threats against Natasha.
“This whole thing has gotten dangerously out of hand,” 2Baba said in the video. “I feel I have to speak. I’m a grown man, and I believe I have the right to be with whoever I want to be with. My family says they are trying to save me, but they are destroying me. They have killed somebody’s daughter’s character.”
The singer expressed deep frustration, accusing his own relatives of amplifying damaging narratives against Natasha, similar to what he says happened during his previous marriage to actress Annie Idibia.
“My family did this. They did this with Annie, this same thing,” he stated. “We all have our differences, but this is beyond. This has become so dangerous right now. Natasha is getting death threats. They have ruined her whole life.”
He also condemned allegations suggesting he is mentally unstable or incapable of making personal decisions, describing such portrayals as “equivalent to killing somebody.”
2Baba reaffirmed that the situation had reached a breaking point and pleaded for the harassment, threats, and circulation of false claims to stop. He urged everyone, especially his family, to withdraw from his personal affairs and allow him to live in peace with his partner.
“Please, I want to tell my family: stay out of my private and personal life,” he begged. “Natasha has been hurt terribly, and on top of that, she’s getting death threats. What you are doing is killing us, not helping us. Just let us be.”
The Afrobeats legend concluded by hinting at more revelations to come:
“I will really speak a whole lot of truth in the next couple of days.”
His closing statement has left fans waiting anxiously for further details as the controversy continues to unfold.
